Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
Operations
- Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to customers.
- Recommends items for sale and suggests trade-up or companion products.
- Handles transactions at the cash register, including collecting cash, providing change, processing voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges. Assists customers in locating products.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, takes inventory, and records transactions. Checks in and prices merchandise as directed.
- Supports pharmacy operations by entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying accuracy, and assisting with workflow scheduling. Reports prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist and follows company policies regarding pharmacy safety and quality standards.
- Handles non-urgent pharmacy calls, processes third-party claims, and performs clerical duties as assigned.
- Assists with inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals. Maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques and files claims for discrepancies or damages.
- Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products like alcohol and tobacco.
- Constructs and maintains displays, including promotional and seasonal setups, and performs resets as needed.
- Assists in food product placement and stock rotation, following safety and quality procedures.
- Operates store systems and equipment effectively.
- Provides photo services, including passport photos and promotional prints, and manages web order pick-ups.
- Maintains store cleanliness and appearance, complies with policies, and fosters respectful coworker relationships.
- Completes assigned tasks and special projects as needed.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintains PTCB certification and/or state certification/registration through ongoing training and continuing education.
- Attends training sessions, completes required coursework, and stays informed about healthcare and pharmacy developments.
Additional requirements: Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico) and willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
