Job summary

ShopRite of WHARTON is seeking a Pharmacy Clerk to support the Pharmacy Department with cash register operations, customer service, stocking, and cleaning to ensure efficient department performance.

The role requires basic math, strong English communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The position emphasizes safety, friendliness, presentation, and efficiency in daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must maintain proper state licensing or certifications.
• Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Knowledge of computer hardware and software.
• Ability to work overtime as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Accurately ring the sale of prescriptions.
• Accurately collect payment and provide change.
• Comply with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the State Board of Pharmacy, HIPAA, DEA and FDA.
• Maintain security of the Pharmacy Department.
• Exhibit professionalism and confidentiality with patients' health information.
• Answer the telephone in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Take prescriptions from patients/customers and verify details.
• Organize and stock pharmaceuticals as directed by the Pharmacist.
• Help customers locate over-the-counter stock.
• Be familiar with products carried in the department.
• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
