Job summary

ShopRite in Belmar, NJ is hiring a Pharmacy Clerk to support the Pharmacy Department with cash register operations and customer service, stocking, and cleaning to keep the department efficient.

You will handle prescriptions, ensure HIPAA privacy, assist customers with OTC products, and uphold safety and sanitation standards during shifts.

This role requires 18+ years old, reading/writing English, basic math, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to work varied schedules.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must maintain proper state licensing or certifications.
• Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to tolerate dust and chemical agents during routine housekeeping duties.
• Must comply with all company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance.
• Accurately ring the sale of prescriptions.
• Accurately and quickly collect proper payment and provide proper change.
• Comply with State and Federal drug laws as regulated by authorities.
• Maintain appropriate security of Pharmacy Department.
• Exhibit professionalism and confidentiality with patients and health information.
• Answer the telephone in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Take prescriptions from patients/customers and verify information.
• Organize and stock pharmaceuticals as directed by Pharmacist.
• Help customers locate over-the-counter stock.
