Job summary

Cencora is seeking a dedicated pharmacy technician to support patients requiring high-cost retail therapies. You will navigate access barriers, process prior authorizations, and coordinate between patients, providers, and payers.

The role demands strong communication, organization, and familiarity with health-system pharmacy operations. Work will be onsite at Cincinnati operations with potential remote coverage as needed, and requires licensed tech credentials, plus comfort with multiple

Qualifications

• Retail pharmacy technician experience 1-3 years.
• Active pharmacy technician licensure / certification in the corresponding state.
• Experience working with prior authorizations and copay assistance programs.
• Lead tech or other leadership experience a plus (not required).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Word and Excel.
• Ability to quickly learn other systems and programs (pharmacy dispensing software, electronic health records, etc.).
• High level of organization and high quality communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide liaison services for patients requiring high-cost retail prescription therapies, focusing on navigation of access and affordability barriers.
• Process prior authorizations and identify patient assistance to route prescriptions to the appropriate pharmacy.
• Coordinate communication between patients, providers, staff, pharmacy and payers.
• Provide subject matter expertise in retail pharmacy prescription access and processing.
• Engage with office staff, providers and leadership to identify process improvements for better access and internalization of prescriptions.
• Serve as primary contact for high-cost prescription access and affordability for assigned clinics.
• Maintain clear communication and documentation within health records and pharmacy systems.
• Educate providers, clinic staff and patients on prescription fulfillment value.
• Deliver world-class customer service and timely task execution to satisfy patients and providers.
