Job summary

Weis Markets, Inc. is seeking a pharmacist to oversee the Weis Markets Pharmacy, ensuring accurate prescriptions and high-quality customer care in a fast-paced setting. You will lead technicians, collaborate with physicians, and implement clinical programs such as immunization and MTM where available.

The role requires a Pharm.D. or BS degree with immunization certification, and a commitment to compliance with all laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BS) or Doctoral degree (PHARM.D.) in Pharmacy.
• Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (APhA).

Responsibilities

• Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions by Drug Utilization Review and Final Quality Assurance per state and federal regulations.
• Build profitable business and script growth through clinical programs including immunization and MTM when available.
• Align performance objectives to 7 key department metrics; manage inventories; track weekly sales; may order stock.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with medical issues and healthcare counseling.
• Supervise Pharmacy Technicians and support staff; train, coach, and manage associates.
• Assume management responsibility over the entire pharmacy in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.
• Maintain open communication with operations and pharmacy management.
• Maintain security of the Pharmacy department.
• Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations.
• Handle and resolve customer issues to build trust and loyalty.
• Interact with physicians and use references to gain information on customers/prescriptions.
• Assist with maintaining the Pharmacy department; keep it clean and support training/development.
• Prioritize tasks; cycle counts, inventory management, and will-calls to customers.
