Job summary

Weis Markets seeks a pharmacist leader to oversee the Weis Pharmacy Department, supervise pharmacy technicians, ensure prescription accuracy, and partner with physicians to optimize patient care.

The role includes immunization programs, MTM when available, inventory control, staff development, compliance with federal and state laws, and delivering compassionate healthcare counseling in a busy community setting.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy degree required; Immunization Certification preferred.
• Experience supervising staff in a pharmacy setting.
• Ability to manage inventory and align department metrics.

Responsibilities

• Ensure prescription accuracy via Drug Utilization Review and Final QA per regulations.
• Lead immunization programs and MTM when available; drive clinical programs and script growth.
• Align department objectives to key metrics for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Oversee inventories, track weekly sales, and order stock as needed to meet demand.
• Provide excellent customer service and healthcare counseling to customers.
• Supervise Pharmacy Technicians and staff on duty; mentor and train associates.
• Handle management duties in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.
• Maintain pharmacy security and ensure compliance with laws.
• Resolve customer issues and work with physicians to resolve prescription questions.
• Keep the department clean and organized; support ongoing staff development.
• Prioritize tasks, manage cycle counts, and oversee will-calls and inventory control.
