Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Pharmacy/Retail Supervisor to oversee daily pharmacy operations and staff. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hospital pharmacy experience, and a proven ability to manage pharmacy technicians while ensuring high-quality patient care. Preference will be given to candidates who may be interested in transitioning into a full-time role.

Contract: 10/13/2025 – 01/10/2026 (Possible extension or conversion to FTE)
Essential Functions
- Direct, manage, and supervise daily pharmacy operations to ensure compliance with professional, regulatory, and governmental standards.
- Oversee staff performance by providing feedback, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and process improvement initiatives.
- Monitor operational and financial outcomes, integrating efforts into quality improvement systems.
- Manage purchasing and inventory to ensure cost-effective, timely availability of medications and supplies.
- Oversee and evaluate computer-based information and dispensing systems for accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide patient-centered care, including counseling on prescriptions, immunizations, vaccines, and emergency medications (if licensed).
- Prepare operational reports and identify areas for improvement.
- Participate in departmental orientation, on-the-job training, and quality assurance programs.
- Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education and hospital training programs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited school; PharmD with 1-year residency (PGY1) preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years pharmacist experience with at least 2 years in hospital practice preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience overseeing pharmacy technicians is preferred.
- Current and unrestricted Pharmacist license; Arizona license preferred.
- Licensed to administer immunizations, vaccines, and emergency medications preferred.
- BLS certification (must be obtained within 30–90 days of hire, depending on credentialing requirements).
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
