Job summary

Northside Hospital seeks a licensed pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical services and expert drug information across patient care areas. You will collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals to optimize therapy and ensure safe medication use.

Graduate from an accredited School of Pharmacy is required; hospital pharmacy experience is preferred, as is strong communication skills to support multidisciplinary teams and patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.
• One year hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.
• Experience in Retail Pharmacy practice preferred.
• Good communication skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide drug information to nurses, physicians, and other health care providers to optimize therapy.
• Advise on drug interactions, contraindications and safe drug therapy for patient populations across the care spectrum.
• Deliver pharmaceutical services and ensure safe medication use throughout the hospital.

As part of the health care team, practices Pharmacy as a knowledge-based clinical profession, and integrates patient-oriented services with traditional distributive and drug control activities. Provides pharmaceutical services including drug information to nurses, physicians, and other health care providers. Advises the same with respect to drug interactions, contraindications and other relevant information to ensure optimal and safe drug therapy. Serves all patients to include, but not limited to, neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.

Schedule

• M-F, 8h shifts between 6a-6p
  • Sat-Sun 8a-430p (up to one weekend per month)

REQUIRED

• Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.

PREFERRED

• One (1) year of previous hospital pharmacy experience.
• Experience in Retail Pharmacy practice.
• Good communication skills.
