Job summary

Optum, in partnership with Genoa Healthcare, offers a Pharmacist Intern internship in Erie, PA, for Summer 2027. The role is on-site and full-time, 40 hours per week from June 1, 2027 to August 6, 2027, designed to provide hands-on experience in clinical and operational pharmacy services within behavioral health and addiction treatment settings.

Selected candidates are PharmD students in good standing, with licensure eligibility as a pharmacist intern, and must be able to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited PharmD program with at least P1 completed before start.
• Active licensure as a pharmacist intern or equivalent per state Board of Pharmacy.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Distribute drugs prescribed by physicians and health practitioners.
• Provide information to customers about medications and their use.
• Perform clerical tasks like filing records and processing insurance claims.
• Ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy laws.
• Administer immunizations as allowed by state boards.
