Job summary

Genoa Healthcare, part of Optum and UnitedHealth Group, is seeking a Pharmacist Intern for the Summer 2027 cohort at the Erie, PA Genoa Pharmacy. This on-site internship offers hands-on experience in behavioral health and addiction treatment pharmacy services.

The program runs June 1, 2027 – August 6, 2027, full-time (40 hours/week). You will work within a collaborative care team, perform dispensing, patient counseling, records, insurance processing, and comply with state boards' regulations;

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited PharmD program with P1 completed before internship.
• Active licensure as a pharmacist intern or equivalent as required by state boards.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Distribute drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners
• Provide information to customers about medications and their use
• Perform clerical duties such as filing patient records and processing insurance claims
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws of the State Board of Pharmacy
• Administer immunizations as allowed by state boards of pharmacy
• Perform usual and customary pharmacy duties
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service and communication
• Maintain safe workspace and report safety concerns to leadership
• Adhere to Board of Pharmacy rules and HIPAA standards
