Job summary

Genoa Healthcare, a pharmacy care services company within Optum, is offering a Summer 2027 Pharmacist Intern on-site program in Erie, PA. The full-time internship runs June 1, 2027 – August 6, 2027, providing hands-on experience within a collaborative care team serving behavioral health patients.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited PharmD program with at least the first professional year (P1) completed before internship start (June 2027).
• Active licensure as a pharmacist intern or equivalent as required by the state Board of Pharmacy.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship (no H-1B/TN sponsorship).

Responsibilities

• Distribute drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners.
• Provide information to customers about medications and their use.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing patient records and processing insurance claims.
• Ensure compliance with state Pharmacy Board regulations and HIPAA standards.
• Administer immunizations as allowed by state boards of pharmacy.
• Contribute to a coordinated care team to serve behavioral health patients.
