Job summary

Altruix is seeking an experienced Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to lead pharmacy operations at our Annapolis, MD location. This hands-on leadership role will oversee staffing, workflow, compliance, and service quality while contributing as a pharmacist when needed.

The PIC will develop team members, support business growth, monitor performance, and identify opportunities for operational improvement. Strong regulatory knowledge and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

  • Active pharmacist licensure in Maryland and a pharmacy degree.
  • Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Compounding experience and ability to organize and delegate tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations to ensure accurate and timely dispensing.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing and oversee workflow for efficiency.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with laws, policies, and standards.
  • Lead, coach, and develop pharmacy staff for strong performance.

Altruix is seeking an experienced Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to lead pharmacy operations at our Annapolis, MD location. The PIC will oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations while ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, accurate and timely dispensing, exceptional service, and strong team performance.

This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for overseeing pharmacy workflow and staffing, developing team members, supporting business growth, monitoring performance, and identifying opportunities for operational improvement. The PIC will also contribute to production and work as a pharmacist as needed.

Main Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations to ensure prescriptions are entered, filled, and dispensed accurately and timely.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and oversee pharmacy workflow to support efficient operations.
  • Ensure pharmacy operations and team members remain compliant with all applicable state and federal laws, regulations, company policies, and standards.
  • Lead, coach, motivate, and develop pharmacy staff to support strong performance and exceptional service.
  • Identify workflow challenges and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate technology and operational solutions that have the potential to improve pharmacy efficiency.
  • Contribute to production and perform pharmacist responsibilities as operational needs require.
  • Partner with operational leadership and customer service teams to resolve service concerns and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Support the successful onboarding and implementation of new business.
  • Review key performance indicators, identify trends, and develop opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct workforce and business planning to support operational excellence.
  • Support the financial profitability of the pharmacy and identify opportunities to drive continued growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, clinic partners, community stakeholders, and other business partners.
  • Participate in regulatory surveys and inspections conducted by authorized agencies.
  • Participate in company performance improvement initiatives.
  • Support the recruitment, interviewing, training, and development of pharmacy talent.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Pharmacy degree.
  • Active pharmacist licensure in the State of Maryland.
  • Current knowledge of applicable state and federal pharmacy laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Compounding experience.
  • Ability to effectively organize and plan the activities of pharmacy staff and delegate responsibilities appropriately.
  • Strong leadership, operational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of pharmacy experience.
  • Previous pharmacy leadership or management experience.
  • Leadership experience that includes interviewing, training, coaching, and developing team members.

Benefits
  • Salary Range: Minimum $155,000 annually – Maximum $175,000 annually. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
