• Analyzes patient data to provide optimal drug therapy recommendations and intervene with the provider as needed.
• Compounds and oversees preparation and dispensing of medications, including sterile products.
• Adheres to formulary and therapeutic substitution to optimize therapy and minimize costs.
• Completes required documentation in the medical record and related records.
• Counsels patients and family members regarding pharmaceutical care issues as requested.
• Directs shift workflow and supervises technicians, students, and volunteers.
• Adheres to policies, procedures, standards and regulations.
• Identifies and participates in process improvement opportunities.
• Precepts students and residents and trains new staff.
