Job summary

UP Health System Marquette is seeking a Pharmacist to join our dedicated pharmacy team. The role involves managing drug therapy protocols, reviewing medication orders, and delivering education to staff, patients, and learners.

You will work nights on a 0.875 FTE schedule and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes. Applicants must hold a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, a current Michigan Pharmacist License, and a MI Pharmacist Controlled Substance License.

Responsibilities

• Manages drug therapy protocols as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve drug related problems.
• Provides drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, and patients, and pharmacy students.
• Documents interventions and their outcomes for quality improvement.
• Evaluates medication orders for accuracy before entry and checks accuracy after filling by technicians.
• Maintains knowledge of pharmacy automated systems and software.

How You’ll Contribute

• Manages drug therapy protocols as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential or actual drug related problems.
• Provides drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, and patients, and pharmacy students.
• Documents interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts.
• Evaluates medication orders for accuracy and completeness prior to order entry. Checks for accuracy after filling by technicians.
• Maintains adequate knowledge of pharmacy automated systems and computer software.

What We’re Looking For

Applicants should have a current state Michigan Pharmacy License and possess a doctorate's degree from an accredited school of pharmacy. Additional requirements include:
