Job summary

UP Health System Marquette, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring an Advanced Pharmacy Technician for a 1.0 FTE 40-hour week with varied shifts at the Marquette, MI campus. External candidates may be eligible for a $7,500 sign-on bonus.

The role involves dispensing, medication history collection, compounding assistance, and clerical duties in a patient-centered environment. Requirements include a Michigan Pharmacy Technician License (not temporary) and a High School Diploma; 1 year experience

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Michigan Pharmacy Technician License (NOT temporary or limited).
• 1 year related experience preferred; knowledge of medical/nursing terminology.

Responsibilities

• Performs dispensing and billing functions in appropriate dispensing program.
• Delivers patient-specific and floor stock medications to patient care areas per department practices.
• Assists the pharmacist in medication compounding.
• Obtains accurate and timely medication history for each patient as directed.
• Demonstrates awareness of differing physiologic requirements of patient age groups when performing tasks.
• Completes medication storage checks and narcotic inventory reconciliation as directed.
• Attends meetings as required or assigned; performs general clerical duties (phones, requisitions).

How You'll Contribute

An Advanced Pharmacy Technician excels in this role:

• Performs dispensing and billing functions in appropriate dispensing program
• Delivers patient- specific and floor stock medications accurately to patient care areas per department practices
• Assists the pharmacist in medication compounding
• Obtains accurate and timely medication history for each patient as directed
• Demonstrates awareness of differing physiologic requirements of patient age groups when performing tasks.

• Participates and attends meetings as required or assigned
• Performs general clerical duties, such as answering phones, filing requisitions, etc. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
