Job summary

Centra Behavioral Health Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Pharmacist PRN to join a dedicated team in Lynchburg. You will accurately fill medication orders, verify staff work, and prioritize urgent orders to ensure timely patient care.

The role includes reviewing patient profiles for safe drug therapy and collaborating with medical staff. The ideal candidate holds a Pharmacist license in the state, with preferred two years of experience and de-escalation certification within 30

• Licensed Pharmacist in the state where the facility operates.
• Two years of pharmacy experience preferred.
• De-escalation certification required within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately fill medication orders and verify staff work before release.
• Prioritize workflow to ensure timely preparation of STAT, NOW, and urgent orders.
• Review patient profiles to ensure safe, appropriate drug therapy and prevent adverse reactions.
• Evaluate orders based on patient factors like age, weight, labs, and disease state.
• Provide drug information, staff education, patient consultation, and collaboration with Medical Staff.

How you'll contribute

• A Pharmacist who excels in this role:
• Accurately fills medication orders and verifies the work of staff prior to medication release.
• Prioritizes workflow to ensure timely preparation of STAT, NOW, and other urgent orders.
• Reviews patient profiles to ensure safe and appropriate drug therapy, preventing interactions, duplications, and avoidable adverse reactions.
• Evaluates medication orders based on patient-specific factors including age, weight, renal function, disease state, labs, and other clinical data.
• Provides drug information and supports staff education, patient consultation, and collaboration with Medical Staff and hospital teams.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school . Additional requirements include:

• Licensed Pharmacist in the state in which the facility operates.
• Two years of pharmacy experience preferred.
• De‑escalation certification is required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
