Job summary

Havasu Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Pharmacist for a full-time overnight shift to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care. You will collaborate with an interprofessional team to optimize medication use and support quality and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate has a Doctor of Pharmacy and current licensure, with BCLS; ACLS is preferred. This role involves clerical accuracy, education, and supervision of technicians in a busy acute care setting.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
• Current license with the state Board of Pharmacy.
• BCLS certification required.
• ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide pharmaceutical care for patients, collaborating with the interprofessional team to optimize safe, effective medication use.
• Review and verify orders, manage drug therapy protocols, educate staff and patients, and support quality and regulatory standards.
• Manage drug therapy protocols as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Review, interpret, and evaluate medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve drug-related problems.
• Complete medication reconciliation.
• Provide drug information and education to staff, pharmacy technicians, medical staff, healthcare professionals, patients, and pharmacy students.
• Document interventions and outcomes for drug therapy quality improvement.
• Verify medication orders for accuracy/completeness prior to entry.
• Check filled medications prepared by technicians.
• Maintain proficiency with pharmacy automated systems and software.
• Sterile and non-sterile compounding including chemotherapy compounding.
• Participate in performance improvement and required continuing education.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians.
