Job summary

Havasu Regional Medical Center is seeking a Certified Central Sterile Technician to join our team in an outpatient surgery center setting. You will decontaminate, assemble and sterilize instruments, monitor sterility, and support patient care with timely, safe sterile supplies.

The role requires CSR certification within 6 months, BLS within 30 days, and the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision. A commitment to safety and quality care is essential for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, decontaminate, store and distribute reusable supplies and patient care equipment.
  • Inspect, decontaminate, assemble and sterilize instruments per guidelines and OSHA requirements.
  • Operate departmental equipment safely and according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Provide customer service to all departments with a focus on patient needs.
  • Process and document sterile supplies daily using indicators to verify sterility.

How you'll contribute

A Certified Central Sterile Technician who excels in this role:

  • Collects, decontaminates, stores and distributes all reusable supplies and patient care equipment in the hospital.
  • Provides inspection, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements.
  • Operates departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety.
  • Provides customer service to all departments with a focus on the patient need.
  • Processes and documents all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical, biological and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.
  • Monitors and performs antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and documentation daily.
What we're looking for

Applicants should have obtained a High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred). Additional requirements include:

  • Central Sterile Technician (CSR) certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
