Job summary

Sheakley in Wilmington, DE seeks a Construction Safety Manager to lead field safety for a pharmaceutical construction project. You will oversee pipefitting, rigging, equipment setting, and process-system installation, ensuring OSHA compliance and safe work practices on site.

The ideal candidate holds a CSP, has 5+ years in construction safety, and will actively coach craft personnel, conduct audits, and coordinate with management to maintain a safe, compliant project environment.

Qualifications

• CSP (Certified Safety Professional) required.
• Minimum 5+ years of construction safety experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field safety oversight for mechanical construction activities.
• Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas.
• Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments.
• Monitor rigging operations, pipe installation activities, equipment setting, and material handling operations.
• Review JHAs, AHAs, permits, and pre-task plans.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and pharmaceutical project safety requirements.
• Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions.
• Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel.
• Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and subcontractors.
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
• Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports.
• Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project.
