Responsibilities

  • Provide daily field safety oversight for mechanical construction activities.
  • Maintain a highly visible presence in active work areas.
  • Conduct routine site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
  • Monitor rigging, pipe installation, equipment setting, and material handling.
  • Review JHAs, AHAs, permits, and pre-task plans for safety compliance.
  • Ensure OSHA and pharma project safety requirements are met.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions.
  • Coach craft personnel on safe work practices.
  • Coordinate safety activities with project management and subcontractors.
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Maintain safety documentation and compliance reports.

Construction Safety Manager

Location: Wilmington, DE
Duration: 5 Months (Start: 9/14)
Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $70/hr
Overtime: Available as Project Demands Require
Per Diem: None
Completion Bonus: $150/month
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 40-50 Hours Per Week | 1st Shift
Additional Schedule Details: Long-term pharmaceutical construction project supporting mechanical installation activities.

The Construction Safety Manager will maintain a strong field presence while working directly with craft personnel, subcontractors, supervision, and project leadership to identify hazards, maintain compliance, and support the safe execution of mechanical construction activities.

This project offers the opportunity to support a large-scale pharmaceutical facility build where safety, quality, and compliance standards are essential to project success.

Required Qualifications

What You'll Be Doing
  • Provide daily field safety oversight for mechanical construction activities

  • Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions
  • Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel
  • Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and subcontractors
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports
  • Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project
