The Fulton County Board of Health in Georgia seeks five highly qualified candidates for the PH Registered Nurse 3 position in the Nursing & Clinical Services Division. Under broad supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care following protocols and focuses on prevention and population health.

Requirements include an Associate degree in nursing, one year experience with PHN course within one year, or two years as PH RN 2, plus Georgia RN license and CPR.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
• One year of nursing experience and completion of a PHN course within one year of hire, or two years as PH RN 2 (HCP191).
• Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care under broad supervision following nurse protocols and policies.
• Focus on prevention of illness and promotion of health for populations.
• Care for populations, including during disasters, emergencies, and biological/chemical protocols.
• Utilize data to modify policies and strategies as needed.
• Act in a managerial capacity for a division or unit and make procedural decisions.
• Operate and control equipment and machinery as required.

Education

The agency is seeking five (5) highly qualified candidates for the position of PH Registered Nurse 3 within the Fulton County Board of Health in the Nursing & Clinical Services Division.

Under broad supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and/or procedures. Focuses on the prevention of illness, injury, or disability, the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations. Cares for population with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols.

Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of nursing experience and completion of a PHN course within one year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification; or two (2) years of experience at the lower-level PH Registered Nurse 2 (HCP191) or position equivalent.

Data Utilization: Requires the ability to synthesize, hypothesize, and/or theorize concerning data involving modification of existing policies, strategies, and/or methods to meet unique or unusual conditions. Requires the ability to do so within the context of existing organizational theories and management principles.

Human Interaction: Requires the ability to function in a managerial capacity for a division or organizational unit; includes the ability to make decisions on procedural and technical levels.

Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization: Requires the ability to operate and control the actions of equipment and machinery, requiring the monitoring, adjustment, regulation, and/or setting of multiple conditions.

Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of references, descriptive, advisory, and/or design data and information.

Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform moderately complex algebraic and geometric operations; ability to utilize principles of basic probability and statistical inference.

Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to apply principles of logical or synthesis functions; deal with concrete and abstract variables; and analyze major problems that require complex planning for interrelated activities that can span one or several work units.

Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness, and creativity in critical and/or unexpected situations involving moderate risk to the organization.
