Job summary

Compliance Management International (CMI) is hiring an experienced Construction Safety Specialist for projects in Philadelphia, PA and South Jersey. This is a long‑term, hands‑on safety leadership role requiring refinery or petro‑chemical OSHA experience.

You will provide daily safety oversight for contractors, conduct inspections, review JHAs/JSAs and PTPS, coach trades on OSHA compliance, monitor exposures, investigate incidents, and ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and client safety

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction safety experience in a Refinery or Petro‑chemical setting.
• Knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction standards.
• Current OSHA 30‑Hour Construction required.
• TWIC card preferred.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED.
• Strong hazard recognition, communication, coaching, and field leadership skills.
• Reliable transportation to travel to different sites to oversee construction.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily construction safety / EHS oversight for contractors and subcontractors.
• Conduct jobsite inspections, safety audits, hazard assessments, and observations.
• Review JHAs/JSAs, Pre‑Task Plans (PTPs), permits, toolbox talks, and safety documentation.
• Coach trades and contractors on OSHA compliance and safe work practices.
• Monitor chemical exposures using a respirator.
• Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses and track corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926, client requirements, and site‑specific safety programs.
