Job summary

Mars offers a Petcare Health, Safety, and Environment Internship Experience designed to give hands-on exposure across safety and environmental areas within our global Mars facilities. The program runs for 10-11 weeks each summer, with mentorship, training, and opportunities to work on real business problems.

Selected students will gain access to Mars University, formal mentorship, and networking with senior leaders, plus perks like salary and a pet-friendly office environment.

Qualifications

• Strongly preferred degree in environmental, health, and safety / occupational health and safety.
• Eligible candidates will intern the summer prior to their final graduation date.
• Open to students legally authorized to work in the U.S., without the need for current or future work status authorization or visa sponsorship for employment.
• Employment is contingent upon successful drug & background screening.
• Eligible candidates will be responsible for personal transportation to and from work site during duration of the internship program.

Responsibilities

• Support Site and Regional HSE in focus initiatives.
• Perform site assessments to ensure safety and environmental regulatory compliance.
• Develop and lead safety trainings for Mars associates.
• Perform risk assessments and help implement appropriate control measures.
• Perform on the job safety analysis looking at ergonomics and improvement opportunities.
• HSE Program Review and Gap Assessments.
