Job summary

Mars invites motivated students to join our Petcare Health, Safety, and Environment Internship Experience. This 10–11 week summer program offers exposure to site and regional HSE initiatives, safety trainings, and regulatory compliance work within Mars’ global environments.

Interns will participate in risk assessments, audits, and hands-on safety projects, with mentorship, onboarding through Mars University, and opportunities to engage with senior leaders at global locations.

Qualifications

• Eligible candidates will intern the summer prior to their final graduation date.
• Open to students legally authorized to work in the U.S., without the need for current or future work status authorization or visa sponsorship for employment.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of drug & background screening.
• Eligible candidates will be responsible for personal transportation to and from work site during duration of the internship program.

Responsibilities

• Support Site and Regional HSE in focus initiatives.
• Perform site assessments to ensure safety and environmental regulatory compliance.
• Develop and lead safety trainings for Mars associates.
• Perform risk assessments and help implement appropriate control measures.
• Perform on the job safety analysis looking at ergonomics and improvement opportunities.
• Assist in technical audits of other Mars factories.

Education

Preferred degree in environmental, health, and safety / occupational health and safety
