Job summary

Petsense by Tractor Supply in Brandon, MS, is seeking a dynamic team member to support Store Manager and ASM with daily operations, sales and merchandising while delivering outstanding customer service. The role focuses on maintaining a safe environment, training Team Members, handling live animals, and performing open/close procedures, cash handling, and merchandising tasks to drive sales.

Experience in retail or pet knowledge is preferred; 18+ years old with a valid driver's license are

Qualifications

• Experience: Retail experience and/or pet/live animal knowledge is strongly preferred. Supervisory experience preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required. Regardless of education level, Team Members must be able to read, write and count accurately.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts and have the ability to work varied hours, days, nights, weekends and overtime as dictated by business needs.
• Uphold and promote a safe and productive work environment by following and enforcing policies and procedures.
• Take the initiative to support selling initiatives (TEAM).
• Execute assigned basic, promotional, and seasonal merchandising activities.
• Perform Opening/Closing procedures.
• Transport and make deposits to bank.
• Assess store conditions and assign duties.
• Organize and prioritize workflow through the daily planner.
• Recovery of merchandise.
• Participate in freight process.
• Perform regular and promotional price change activities.
• Execute to completion Plan-o-gram procedures (merchandising, sets, and resets)
• In the absence of SM or ASM, order live goods and store supplies
• Resolve customer complaints/issues and ensure the customer has a positive experience.
• Adhere to loss prevention standards and respond to any alarm calls as needed.
• Communicate with Team Members on job functions, responsibilities and financial goals.
• Operate cash register/computer supervising cash handling procedures.
• Ensure cash drawers and vault is reconciled daily.
• Assemble merchandise
• Perform janitorial duties
• Assist customers with loading purchases
• Ensure the safety and well-being of live animals. Sanitize and maintain holding tanks and care for live animals as required
• Handle and care for all live animals including their food, bedding and habitat
• Assist in training new Team MembersComplete all documentation associated with any of the above job duties
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
