Job summary

PetSmart’s Salon Experience Lead (Groomer & Salon Trainer) is responsible for providing exceptional service to pet parents and supporting a high performing team while upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. The Salon Experience Lead will deliver professional quality services with the upmost focus on quality and care of pets.

This role will support the development of bathers and new stylists, seeing them through the entire pet stylist development program.

Qualifications

• 2+ years grooming experience; may be asked to complete a technical exam.
• Full-time availability; flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency with grooming tools, equipment and products to perform grooming safely.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead salon team development, training, onboarding, mentoring, and performance feedback.
• Develop new and existing associates through grooming certification.
• Identify candidates for stylist academy and schedule tasks.
• Manage salon operations and respond to associate concerns.
• Ensure pet parent interactions meet service standards and promote bookings.
• Perform full grooming services and related care per standards.
• Promote salon sales and meet targets; ensure cleanliness and humane pet handling.
• Communicate business trends to leadership and report needs.
• Handle additional duties as needed.
