Job summary

NVA Pet Resorts is seeking an Assistant General Manager for the Canine Country Club - Westside in Albuquerque, NM. You will partner with the General Manager to run day-to-day operations, develop the team, and deliver outstanding care to pets and their people.

You will lead as a key member of the Resort Leadership Team, shaping culture, coaching Shift Leads and staff, and ensuring high standards across pet care, facility safety, and guest experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of customer service experience; leadership experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and hands-on leadership of teams.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and POS systems.
• Availability to work up to 45–50 hours weekly, including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver's license and current auto insurance; willing to transport a pet in emergencies.
• Ability to support and drive workplace improvements.

Responsibilities

• Model NVA values and leadership competencies in daily behavior.
• Coach and develop Shift Leads and Team Members to build capability and confidence.
• Recognize strong performance and address concerns promptly, fairly, and consistently.
• Partner with the General Manager to create an engaging workplace culture.
• Maintain operational excellence across pet care, facility standards, cleanliness, and safety.
• Lead 1–2 shifts per week as Manager on Duty and ensure staffing aligns with labor guidelines.
• Resolve customer concerns with empathy and professionalism, and follow up on issues.
• Ensure teams are trained across resort tasks and operating standards.
