Job summary

National Veterinary Associates (NVA) is seeking an Assistant General Manager for the PetSuites Long Meadow resort in Houston, TX. You will partner with the General Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, develop the team, and ensure outstanding care for pets and clients.

The role emphasizes leadership, culture, and financial performance, with responsibilities spanning guest experience, staffing, and performance management in a dynamic resort environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of customer service experience; leadership experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills; comfortable leading teams in a hands-on environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and point-of-sale systems.
• Availability to work up to 45–50 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license, current insurance, and a vehicle for pet transport in emergencies.
• Ability to support and influence workplace change and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations and partner with GM to run resort.
• Develop and coach team members to build capability and confidence.
• Drive a culture that aligns with NVA values and standards.
• Maintain pet care, facility standards, cleanliness, and safety.
• Manage staffing and scheduling; lead shifts as Manager on Duty.
• Assist in budgeting, monitoring KPIs, and performance metrics.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and performance management.
