Job summary

Pet Paradise in Columbia, SC, is seeking an Assistant Manager to oversee daily resort operations and staff in a fast-paced, pet-friendly environment. You will supervise labor, recruit and onboard new hires, and coach team members to deliver premier service to pets and their parents.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety and cleanliness, managing schedules, driving sales and guest satisfaction, and coordinating with regional teams.

Qualifications

• Supervisory or management experience (1–2 years).
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and build relationships with customers.
• Detail-oriented with a results focus.
• Experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality operations, or similar.
• Previous experience in animal care preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic software.
• Comfortable around dogs and able to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver's license and working vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the resort and staff.
• Manage labor, scheduling, timecards, and labor costs.
• Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard new resort employees.
• Train, coach and develop team members for growth.
• Deliver premier service to pet guests and their parents.
• Maintain customer service metrics (NPS, reviews).
• Develop methods to increase sales and attract new business.
• Perform opening and closing duties and MOD responsibilities.
• Maintain 5-day onsite workweeks and weekend/holiday coverage.
