Job summary

Pet Paradise's Columbia resort in South Carolina is seeking an Assistant Manager to oversee daily operations and staff, partnering with the Resort Manager on a range of management needs.

The role requires 1-2 years of supervisory experience, a high school diploma (college degree preferred), strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to train staff and maintain high service standards while ensuring safety and cleanliness. Weekend and holiday coverage is expected.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience.
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to recruit, train, and motivate employees.
• Experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality operations or similar.
• Comfortable around dogs and able to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Detail-oriented and results-focused.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing daily operations of the resort and staff.
• Posting staff schedules, reviewing timecards, and controlling labor hours.
• Recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding new employees.
• Training and coaching staff on standards and procedures.
• Delivering premier service to pet guests and their parents.
• Maintaining customer service metrics and handling concerns.
• Managing inventory of supplies and scheduling/calendar duties.
• Performing opening/closing duties and MOD responsibilities.
• Developing methods to increase sales and attract new customers.
• Weekend and holiday coverage as required.
