Job summary

PetSmart’s Salon Experience Lead (Groomer & Salon Trainer) will deliver high-quality grooming services and lead a developing team of bathers and stylists. You’ll support growth through the entire skill‑building program while upholding PetSmart’s mission and values.

The role emphasizes safeguarding pet welfare, maintaining store standards, and driving salon sales while providing exceptional customer experiences and mentoring teammates across shifts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years grooming experience; may be asked to complete a technical exam.
• Full time availability; flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays as needed.
• Proficiency with tools, equipment and products to perform technical work safely.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safety.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the associate experience and supports development through training, onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Develops new and existing associates through bather/stylist certification processes.
• Identifies candidates for academy training to become stylists.
• Delegates and validates daily salon tasks and maintains operations.
• Addresses and administers associate complaints and promotes engagement.
• Maintains salon and store standards and drives a culture of empowerment.
