PetSmart’s Salon Experience Lead (Groomer & Salon Trainer) is responsible for delivering professional grooming services with a focus on quality and pet care, while supporting the development of bathers and stylists through the full grooming program.

The role leads salon operations, supports associate growth, and drives a positive pet-parent experience by delivering exceptional service and maintaining store standards. This position emphasizes training, coaching, and compliance across the salon.

Qualifications

• 2+ years grooming experience; may be asked to complete a technical exam.
• Full time availability required; flexibility in schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency with tools, equipment and products to perform grooming safely.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safety.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates associate experience and supports development; provide coaching and performance feedback.
• Develops new and existing associates through bather/stylist certification processes.
• Identifies candidates for academy training to become stylists.
• Delegate and validate completion of salon daily tasks.
• Address and administer associate complaints and grievances.
• Promote guest engagement and drive salon sales to meet targets.
• Perform full menu of bath, brush and grooming services and related stand-alone services.
