Job summary

UCI Health is seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine technologist to perform in vivo and in vitro procedures, using radiopharmaceuticals, and to deliver high-quality patient care with efficient throughput.

You will operate gamma cameras, PET/CT systems, and CT contrast protocols, and you will help prepare study protocols for research trials under supervision. On-call duties are required and safety standards must be followed.

Qualifications

• Proficient computer skills.
• Must work on‑Call and rotational shifts as needed.
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT.
• Knowledge of State regulatory radiation safety practices and the principles of ALARA.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to train, monitor and maintain compliance in the department.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Responsibilities

• Perform the full range of in vivo and in vitro Nuclear Medicine procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals and related chemicals.
• Operate and quality-control stationary and portable scintillation equipment including gamma cameras and dose calibration devices.
• Perform PET, Nuc Med, and CT diagnostic studies on PET/CT with CT contrast and image reformatting.
• Assist in scanner qualification for research trials and develop study protocols under supervision.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program

Current BLS certification

Current CRT, CTNM, ARRT and ARRT(N) or NMTCB
