American Veterinary Group is seeking a Veterinary Receptionist at Durham Veterinary Clinic to be the welcoming first point of contact for clients and their pets. This role focuses on delivering excellent customer service, coordinating appointments, managing records, and supporting the veterinary team.

Ideal candidates are friendly, organized, and able to remain calm in a busy clinic environment. Prior receptionist or veterinary experience is preferred, with opportunities for professional growth

Qualifications

• Experience in veterinary, medical, customer service, or receptionist roles preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Comfortable around dogs, cats, and other animals.
• Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, dependable, and team-oriented.
• Professional, compassionate, and positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn veterinary terminology and clinic procedures.

Responsabilités

• Greet clients and their pets warmly and professionally.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage daily calendar.
• Check clients and patients in and out efficiently.
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate clearly.
• Maintain accurate client and patient records.
• Process payments, prepare invoices, and collect balances.
• Communicate client concerns to the veterinary team.
• Assist with medication refill requests and other client needs.
• Notify the medical team of urgent situations.
• Assist with basic patient handling and safe movement of animals.
• Maintain a clean, organized reception area.
• Collaborate with doctors, technicians, assistants, and management.
• Handle difficult situations with patience and professionalism.
