Job summary

Petco is hiring a Key Holder to help lead daily store operations and deliver exceptional customer experiences. The role focuses on supervising partners, opening/closing the store, and maintaining a welcoming, safe environment for pets and customers.

Ideal candidates will have prior retail experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting while handling cash and inventory tasks with accuracy.

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience required; supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills and experience handling cash and transactions.
• Reliable, responsible, and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Uphold Petco’s standards for animal care and safety.
• Lead and supervise store partners on the floor; ensure a great customer experience.
• Open/close the store and manage daily operations with attention to security and cash handling.
• Support merchandising standards, pricing, planograms, and promotional setups.
• Assist with inventory, stock checks, and shrink control.
• Provide guidance to partners and escalate issues to store leadership when needed.
