Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital in Kansas City is seeking a Pet Care Assistant to support the veterinary medical team by preparing treatment rooms, handling supplies, and helping provide a welcoming, efficient experience for clients and their pets.

You will assist with basic animal handling, client education on preventive care, in-house lab prep, and daily hospital duties while upholding Banfield's standards of care and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old to perform radiography duties.
• One year related experience preferred.
• Fluent English communication and basic literacy required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment room and supplies for examinations.
• Provide client education on preventive care and wellness plans.
• Restrain pets during examinations and procedures as needed.
• Prepare routine in-house lab tests within state guidelines.
• Ensure patient comfort and hospital cleanliness; assist with care tasks.
• Assist with bathing/dipping pets when advised by staff.
• Support the floor team and maintain hospital protocols.
