Job summary

Sarasota Art Ovation Hotel is seeking a restaurant service associate to take orders and serve food and drinks to guests in our downtown property. The role requires a friendly, professional demeanor and the ability to work a flexible schedule.

You will ensure safety and quality, handle payments, and help maintain the dining area and equipment. Prior guest-facing experience and a 21+ age requirement apply; bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a public-facing role.
• Must be 21+ to serve alcohol.
• Ability to communicate clearly with guests and colleagues.
• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• ServSafe and/or food safety training completed.
• Alcohol awareness training (TIPS) completed.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Knowledge of local activities and attractions is a plus.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.


• Ensures compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures by the Food and Beverage Department.


• Maintains food and beverage safety and quality based on hotel, Shaner, and Franchise specifications.


• Ensures communication with General Manager, all other Department Managers, Supervisors and Staff.


• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Take food and beverage orders, retrieve, and serve alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages, and food orders to guest tables according to hotel specifications, courteously and efficiently. Collect payments. Also assists in the maintenance of the restaurant area and equipment.

• Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.


• Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.


• High school graduate or equivalent, some college preferred.
