Job summary

YMCA Central New Mexico is seeking a dedicated Personal Trainer to build a thriving client base and deliver personalized fitness plans. You will also serve as a floor monitor, ensuring a safe, welcoming space and conducting equipment orientations that empower members.

You’ll lead individual and small-group sessions, promote the YMCA’s wellness philosophy, and embody our mission while helping members achieve balance of spirit, mind and body in a supportive community.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to motivate members toward fitness goals.
• Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with diverse clients.
• Understanding of exercise science and functional training principles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct personal training sessions with members as scheduled.
• Encourage members to understand benefits of exercise and weight training; inform about YMCA programs.
• Lead individual or group activities as directed by Health & Wellness Director.
• Understand and carry out the YMCA Fitness Program objectives.
• Ensure equipment is clean and ready for the next session.
• Promote the YMCA's values and wellness philosophy within the community.
• Lead by example and embody the YMCA's mission and brand with participants and staff.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
