Job summary

The YMCA of Central New York is seeking a Personal Trainer to support members in achieving their health and wellness goals within the YMCA Wellness Center. The trainer will operate under the Health and Wellness Director and ensure guidance aligns with YMCA USA guidelines and association policies.

You will create safe, effective training plans, conduct initial interviews, and maintain accurate session records while upholding the YMCA values and delivering a positive member experience.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old to work in the Wellness Department.
• Experience in a health and wellness related field preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or obtain them within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Design safe and effective training programs based on member goals.
• Perform initial client interviews after approval.
• Maintain a written attendance record for all training sessions.
• Manage appointment schedules and communicate changes to the Director.
• Demonstrate teamwork and collaborate with staff and members.
