Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli).
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly within the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial information.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members and promote safety.

Responsibilities

• Ensure courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning by developing career paths and providing development for team members.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and decisions concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed sales goals and uphold Meijer standards.
• Ensure staff are trained in all job aspects and completed required training.
• Spend most time in-store communicating with customers and team members.
• Promote a safe work environment and maintain reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
