Job summary

Frankenmuth Insurance Company seeks a risk reviewer to evaluate and classify each risk for acceptability, under moderate supervision, while monitoring ongoing business for continued suitability.

Responsibilities include evaluating renewals, determining reinsurance when needed, and maintaining profitability through proper risk selection and pricing, collaborating with agents and internal staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4–6 years related experience and/or training preferred.
• Experience in risk assessment or underwriting advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate applications, renewals and endorsements to approve, modify or decline risks within defined authority.
• Determine and authorize reinsurance when necessary.
• Communicate with agents and internal staff to collect information for risk assessment.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with agents and internal staff; respond to inquiries by telephone, correspondence, and agency visits.
• Maintain profitable business in territory through proper selection, pricing, and monitoring of risk.
