Job summary

Thompson Law, a premier personal injury firm based in Texas, seeks a Litigation Attorney to handle a personal injury docket with senior trial lawyers for mentorship. This on-site role in Houston offers exposure to depositions, motions, and trial work, with a focus on maximizing client recoveries.

You will work alongside experienced litigators, paralegals, and staff to manage filings, discovery, and depositions while developing case strategy and courtroom skills for first-chair opportunities.

Qualifications

• Texas license in good standing
• 3–8 years of legal experience, active litigation preferred
• Solid command of Texas civil procedure and evidence
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Comfort with legal research databases and case management tools
• Desire to advocate for injured clients and maximize recoveries
• Willingness to try cases and take depositions, with mentorship support
• Spanish speaking a plus

Responsibilities

• Own a personal injury docket and advance cases toward settlement or trial
• Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and take/defend depositions
• Collaborate with medical records specialists and staff to build damages models
• Lead and mentor paralegals and assistants on your docket
• Represent clients at hearings, mediations, and trials when appropriate
• Negotiate settlements with insurers and defense counsel
• Maintain trial readiness and organize documentation for jury trials
