Job summary

Hensley Legal Group is seeking an attorney to lead personal injury litigation from filing through resolution or trial. You will work directly with clients, develop case strategy, and coordinate with a dedicated paralegal to keep cases moving.

The role offers meaningful courtroom experience and opportunities to positively impact clients during difficult times. The ideal candidate has a Juris Doctor and active Indiana license, with strong writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage own personal injury litigation caseload from filing through resolution or trial.

• Take and defend depositions and participate in settlements and mediations.

You own your cases. You'll serve as the lead attorney on your own personal injury litigation caseload from filing through resolution or trial.

What You'll Do

• Manage your own personal injury litigation caseload from filing through resolution or trial
• Develop case strategy and evaluate liability, damages, and case value
• Communicate directly with clients and guide them through the litigation process
• Handle written and oral discovery, motions, pleadings, and other litigation matters
• Take and defend depositions
• Work with medical providers, witnesses, and expert professionals to develop evidence
• Attend mediations and negotiate settlements
• Prepare cases for trial and advocate for your clients in the courtroom when needed
• Partner with your paralegal to keep cases moving and clients informed

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor (J.D.)
• Active law license in good standing in Indiana
• Litigation experience; personal injury experience strongly preferred
• Strong legal writing, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills
• Trial experience or a genuine desire to build and sharpen your trial skills
• Strong judgment, accountability, and ability to take ownership of your cases
• Client-first mindset and strong communication skills
• Indiana and Illinois licenses are a plus
• Bilingual skills are a plus

Schedule:

Full-time. Attorneys should expect a minimum 40-hour workweek, with additional time as needed to meet client and case demands.
