Job summary

Hensley Legal Group in Fort Wayne seeks an attorney to own and manage their personal injury caseload from filing through resolution or trial. You will work directly with clients and have the support of a dedicated paralegal to focus on strategy and advocacy.

You will gain courtroom experience handling depositions, mediations, and trial preparation, with opportunities to negotiate settlements and advocate for clients in court. This role values client-first representation and ownership of cases.

Qualifications

• J.D. required and licensed to practice in Indiana.
• Strong litigation, writing, and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to take ownership of cases and advocate for clients.
• Trial experience or the drive to develop trial skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own personal injury litigation caseload from filing through resolution or trial.
• Develop case strategy and evaluate liability, damages, and case value.
• Communicate directly with clients and guide them through the litigation process.
• Handle written and oral discovery, motions, pleadings, and other litigation matters.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Work with medical providers, witnesses, and expert professionals to develop evidence.
• Attend mediations and negotiate settlements.
• Prepare cases for trial and advocate for clients in court when needed.
• Partner with a paralegal to keep cases moving and inform clients.

Build your trial practice in Fort Wayne while owning your own personal injury caseload.

At Hensley Legal Group, our attorneys take ownership of their own personal injury caseloads, work directly with clients, and have the support and resources needed to take cases from filing through resolution—and to trial when that's what the case demands.

What You'll Do

• Manage your own personal injury litigation caseload from filing through resolution or trial
• Develop case strategy and evaluate liability, damages, and case value

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor (J.D.)
• Active law license in good standing in Indiana
• Litigation experience; personal injury experience strongly preferred
• Strong legal writing, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills
• Trial experience or a genuine desire to build and sharpen your trial skills
• Strong judgment, accountability, and ability to take ownership of your cases
• Client-first mindset and strong communication skills
• Indiana and Illinois licenses are a plus
• Bilingual skills are a plus

Schedule: Full-time. Attorneys should expect a minimum 40-hour workweek, with additional time as needed to meet client and case demands.
