Speaks Law Firm in Wilmington, NC is seeking an experienced high-volume Personal Injury Case Manager (Paralegal) to support our team. This role focuses on managing personal injury files, communicating with clients, attorneys, and insurers, and ensuring timely progress on cases.

Candidates should have at least two years of NC PI claim experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Two (2) plus years of experience working with NC personal injury claims.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration with clients and colleagues.
• Passion for advocating for clients and maintaining a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Maintain effective communication with attorneys, clients, insurance adjusters, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases.
• Draft legal documents including routine pleadings and motions; file motions and pleadings according to procedures.
• Research statutes, regulations, and judicial decisions; provide written analysis to attorneys.
• Interview clients and witnesses and prepare summaries of their statements.
• Prepare, organize, store, and retrieve case files and exhibits.
• Demonstrate KPIs and drive tasks to completion with minimal supervision.
• Monitor and manage client’s medical treatment and requests for information (medical records & billing).
• Organize and maintain client files; file correspondence, e-mails, and demand packages into Case Management Software.
• Understand subrogation liens and dispute unrelated charges.
• Complete balance sheets reflecting Rule 414 payments/adjustments.
• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and other health insurance portals.
