Job summary

Mercy LIFE Norristown, part of Trinity Health PACE, seeks a Part-time Personal Care Assistant to support seniors in daily activities at home and center settings.

You will perform assessments, assist with toileting, grooming, meals, mobility, and transportation, while maintaining safety and quality of care. A compassionate, reliable caregiver with strong communication and organizational skills is essential. Occasional travel within the region may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of experience with frail/elderly population or training from PACE upon hiring.
• Preferred experience in long-term care or geriatric programs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Employment Type: Part time Shift: Description: PERSONAL CARE ASSISTANT Location: Norristown, PA Status: PRN Shift: Flexible Scheduling - Homecare and center work required Position Purpose: This role impacts participants lives by providing essential personal care services and health support.

What you will do:

• Aid in maintaining physical activity and exercise routines.
• Identify safety hazards and respond to emergencies.
• Assist with recreational activities, meal service, and housekeeping.
• Report any changes in participant's condition to center staff.
• Escort participants to appointments and assist with transportation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population or if less than one (1) year of experience, must receive appropriate training from the PACE organization upon hiring.
• Preferred experience in long-term care or geriatric programs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license, insurance and use of personal vehicle.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to change.
• Some travel within the region may be required.
