Job summary

Mercy LIFE Norristown, part of Trinity Health PACE, seeks a Part-time Personal Care Assistant to support seniors at home and in center-based care. You will assist with daily activities and help maintain safety and well-being.

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year with frail or elderly, or training from PACE. Valid driver's license, insurance, and travel within the region may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with frail/elderly population; or training provided by PACE on hiring.
• Preferred experience in long-term care or geriatric programs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and use of a personal vehicle.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to change.
• Some travel within the region may be required.

PERSONAL CARE ASSISTANT

Shift: Flexible Scheduling - Homecare and center work required

Position Purpose

This role impacts participants lives by providing essential personal care services and health support.

What you will do

• Conduct ongoing participant assessments and monitoring.
• Provide assistance with daily activities, including toileting, grooming, and meals.
• Aid in maintaining physical activity and exercise routines.
• Identify safety hazards and respond to emergencies.
• Assist with recreational activities, meal service, and housekeeping.
• Report any changes in participant's condition to center staff.
• Escort participants to appointments and assist with transportation.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population or if less than one (1) year of experience, must receive appropriate training from the PACE organization upon hiring.
• Preferred experience in long-term care or geriatric programs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license, insurance and use of personal vehicle.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to change.
• Some travel within the region may be required.
