Job summary

Mercy LIFE Norristown, part of Trinity Health, is seeking a Personal Care Assistant to help seniors remain independent at home by providing compassionate personal care and health support in a team-based setting.

You will work Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, with every other weekend, and receive a $2,500 sign-on bonus. A high school diploma and at least one year of experience with seniors are required, along with a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with frail or elderly populations; training provided on hire if less.
• Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable personal vehicle.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel within the service area as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing participant assessments and monitoring.
• Assist with activities of daily living.
• Support mobility, exercise, and physical activities.
• Identify safety concerns and respond to emergencies.
• Escort participants to appointments and assist with transportation needs.
• Communicate changes in participant condition to the interdisciplinary care team.
• Assist with recreational activities, meal service, and light housekeeping.

What You'll Do

• Conduct ongoing participant assessments and monitoring
• Assist with activities of daily living, including: Toileting Grooming and personal hygiene Meal assistance
• Support participants with mobility, exercise, and physical activities
• Identify safety concerns and respond appropriately to emergencies
• Assist with recreational activities, meal service and light housekeeping
• Communicate changes in participant condition to the interdisciplinary care team
• Escort participants to appointments and assist with transportation needs

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population Candidates with less than one year of experience may be considered with appropriate training provided upon hire
• Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable personal vehicle
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing needs
• Ability to travel within the service area as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in long-term care, senior care, home care, or geriatric programs
