Job summary

The Health Care Administrators Association® (HCAA) seeks a Personal Care Assistant to provide essential in-home care to clients, following individualized care plans and keeping a safe, clean environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with personal hygiene, grooming, ambulation, meal preparation (special diets), and helping with self-care activities. Also supports transfers with walkers/wheelchairs and documents tasks via EVV. All care is done within scope and with privacy in mind.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 6 months of validated caregiving experience.
  • Strong communication and adherence to safety procedures.
  • Ability to document tasks using EVV or electronic timesheets.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, ambulation, and self-help activities.
  • Prepare meals, including meals for special diets.
  • Support clients with transfers, using walkers or wheelchairs as needed.
  • Maintain safety protocols and infection control; protect client confidentiality.
  • Document daily tasks via EVV/electronic timesheets and notify supervisors of changes.
