Job summary

Job description

The Personal Care Assistant role involves providing essential support to clients, following individualized care plans, and ensuring safety and confidentiality.

Responsibilities include assisting with basic personal care such as bathing, grooming, ambulation, meal prep (including special diets), feeding, oral hygiene, and limited transfers using equipment like walkers or wheelchairs.

Assist with light household tasks like laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, and meal preparation. Maintain a clean and safe environment, report any safety concerns or client condition changes to the supervisor, and follow infection control and safety protocols.

Must only assist with self-administration of medications, never administer directly. Uphold client privacy, confidentiality, and rights, providing quality care within scope.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of validated caregiving experience. Candidates must be 18 years or older.

Ideal candidates demonstrate strong communication skills, compassion, and adherence to safety and ethical standards.
